Could fan-supported TV become a reality?

First, Mr Rogers over a Kung Fu Monkey ask ppl how much they’d pay to download a tv episode.

Now, it seems mad Mad Trekkies wanna pay for a new season of Enterprise.

Crazy, but could it work? DVDs are a clear revenue source for most shows.
Note to MPAA et al: despite rampant downloading.

And with all the hype about Lost having to leave Hawaii, the most interesting fact I thought was that came out was that most shows aren’t profitable until years after they’ve screened.. or they come out on DVD. No wonder they wanted to release the pilot on DVD.
[Note – can’t find the links to back half these assertions up – but trust me, its true šŸ˜‰ ]

Now, let’s hope that Mr Rogers et al will beat the trekkies to the punch, and release Global Frequency in the 21st way it deserves! i.e. Pay-Pay supported bittorrent downloads, or something similar.
