You’d have the kind of city implied by our financial situation. Rich guys in hemi-demi orbit, narco favelas on the ground.

Huge photoset because I just couldn’t make up my mind.

I can’t believe I didn’t make a photoset earlier. I am a huge fan of Nihei’s early work, it’s probably the only mangaka I truly admire and look up to. Sadly, his latest work tend to loose that rough aspect which made everything so dynamic and addictive in Blame!, plus it was never about the characters but the perspective and architecture of his cyberpunk universe which was just incredible while now… well the characters seem to be taking over the importance of the visual work and it kinda breaks my heart.

Fire escapes are a lost art. Although apartment owners attached these tiered ladders to apartments to create additional exit routes, fire escapes became additional balconies for many apartment-dwellers. As residents sat outside in the summer, streets became more well-watched. After fire code changed to ensure all new buildings had two interior stairwells, fire escapes began disappearing from the American lexicon. 

I am going to miss the architecture here  a lot when I eventually move.
