On Doctor’s orders I spent a week in the sun, up in Cairns. Further north in my own country than I’d ever travelled before. Feeling like Byron ordered to warmer climes for his health, trying to channel HST in this photo:

Sun was bathed in, tunes were listened to and words were typed. I wrote a 3000 word love-letter to Zero History, which should go up soon and finally started on a piece for Grinding which consolidates a lot of my thinking in recent times and will take a lot more work to complete.
I took four randomly chosen books from my to-read shelf, but only read one; Spider Kiss by Harlan Ellison. It was the perfect thing to read after Zero History, a timecapsule from 1960 documenting the finding and making of a Star, based losely on Elvis Presley. The character of the Colonel reads like a primitive ancestor of Hubertus Bigend, from the deep South of the US and has me curious to learn more about Colonel Tom Parker.
The wife made a new friend and I got a much needed good dosage of Vitamin D. A week well spent.
